Multiconsult UK Ltd was established in December 2012 with the transfer of all of the staff from the hydropower division of URS* in the UK. Our highly respected UK based team has operated in the hydropower sector for many years, with a high proportion of the staff having over 30 years’ experience on projects worldwide.
*Previously known as Norplan Hydropower UK Ltd and prior to that Scott Wilson.

The Multiconsult UK team offers fully integrated engineering, construction supervision and technical advisory services in the hydropower and dams sector with the capabilities to support every stage of the project life cycle – from inception, up-front studies, engineering design and operation to decommissioning.
The company’s expertise encompasses all civil engineering aspects required to deliver dam and hydropower projects, including hydrology and hydraulics, geology and geotechnics and structural related aspects as well as the full range of mechanical and electrical installations required for flow control and energy capture and distribution.
Multiconsult UK’s expertise is developed from successfully delivering projects worldwide in a variety of climatic conditions and encompasses all types of turbines; heads from a few metres to over 1000 metres; and, installed capacities from hundreds of kW to over 10,000MW. We have significant expertise in underground facilities as well as surface power stations and are experienced in green field, refurbishment and expansion projects for conventional hydro or pump storage facilities.
Clients include those in both the public and private sectors, including national ministries, power authorities, power developers/owners, lenders, insurers, constructors and regulatory authorities. In our technical advisory capacity we also act as independent engineer for Clients, investors and banks.
