Tender information session and site visit – Africa’s first utility-scale floating solar PV IPP

The Republic of the Seychelles (RoS) intends to tender the right to develop, finance, own and operate a 4MW(est) floating grid-connected solar PV plant in the Lagoon le Rocher. Prospective companies and investors interested in participating in the pending tender are hereby invited to an information session and site visit at the Savoy Hotel in Mahè, Seychelles.

The Republic of the Seychelles (RoS) intends to tender the right to develop, finance, own and operate a 4MW(est) floating grid-connected solar PV plant in the Lagoon le Rocher. The tender and project will represent a path-breaking opportunity for the eventual successful bidder as it will be the first utility-scale floating solar PV project in all of Africa and it will be one of the first salt-water floating solar PV plants in the world.

The tender is implemented by the Seychelles Energy Commission (SEC), with the Public Utility Corporation (PUC) as the eventual off-taker of the project. The tender process is supported by African Legal Support Facility (ALSF), an organisation hosted by the African Development Bank and the Clinton Foundation. Trinity International and Multiconsult are serving as the transaction and tender advisors.
