Statnett has decided to upgrade and develop the Norwegian national power grid. Studies show that the current power grid is close to its capacity, so it is crucial to ensure power for the next generation. The expansions requires significant mobilisation of engineering capacity.

Minimum two-year agreement
Multiconsult and Fichtner will supply a range of services. The services include project planning, project management, construction management, specialised services, and Geotechnics. The agreement is for a minimum of two years.
Both companies are leaders in their home markets, and also work internationally within electricity production and transmission. Through Multiconsult’s international subsidiary Norplan Hydropower Ltd., the companies already cooperate on the construction of the Mount Coffee hydroelectric power project in Liberia.
