Opening of the new Hurtigruten Museum

On Saturday 28 August, the new Hurtigruten Museum opened with one of the world's largest indoor museum objects, namely the ship MS Finnmarken from 1956.

The solution to preserve the monument of Norwegian coastal history is a protection building of 3600 square meters that encloses the ship, mainly built in steel and glass. One of the challenges in the design and construction has been the rough weather conditions in Stokmarknes in northern Norway, where the museum is located.

Multiconsult has developed the building together with LINK arkitektur and the contractor PEAB.
