Multiconsult welcomed delegation from Malawi

Hydropower project in Malawi

In 2014, Multiconsult signed the contract for Construction Supervision including Contracts Management on behalf of the Client for the Upgraded Kamuzu Barrage at Liwonde under the Shire River Basin Management Programme (Phase 1) Project.

Last week the Client, Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development in Malawi, visited Multiconsult`s Oslo office for a Project Meeting.

– We have been working with the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development since 2000, so it was about time that we held a project meeting in Oslo, says Multiconsult Team Leader Jan Atle Roti.

Norway on display

In addition to meetings and presentations at Multiconsult’s Oslo office, the delegation also spent one day meeting with and learning about the regulatory unit of Glomma – GLB. They also visited GLB’s operation central as well as one of the major regulation dams in Glomma – Svanefossen, together with Multiconsults senior hydrometric engineer Kjell Dalviken and Jan Atle Roti. The project team also showed them some of the major sights in Oslo, including the Opera and Holmenkollen.

The project team

The project includes staff from Tranportation and Infrastructure, MSR and the Energy department in Greater Oslo, as well as Multconsult UK. There are currently 3 persons from Multiconsult and 5 locally employed professionals based in the project office in Liwonde, 1 person (on rotation) is following up the gate manufacture in India, and more people working from the home office and doing short term travels on the project.
