Multiconsult is acting as client adviser for the development of Europe’s largest onshore wind power portfolio

Multiconsult has signed a framework agreement with Fosen Vind DA covering 1,000 MW of wind power in central Norway.

24. February 2016

The framework agreement comprises services such as civil and structural engineering, electrical and mechanical engineering, checking designs and documentation provided by the contractor and site supervision. There are also a number of optional add-ons such as construction management, project management, services related to HSE, supervision of transmission cable installation and other relevant consultancy services during the construction phase, including design services.

Both local and market-leading

“We are looking forward to working with Statkraft to achieve our joint goals for this exciting project. The work will be led by our wind power team in central Norway, which is based very close to the construction sites at Fosen and Snillfjord. Multiconsult is currently the leading supplier of consultancy services to the Norwegian wind power industry, and this contract is hugely important to maintaining that position, both now and into the future” says Helge Jenssen, VP for Energy at Multiconsult.

Positive investment decision

Statkraft, TrønderEnergi and Nordic Wind Power DA are joining forces to build Europe’s largest onshore wind power project in central Norway. In total, around NOK 11 billion will be invested in six wind farms with a combined installed capacity of 1,000 MW. Construction work will start in the second quarter of 2016, and all of the wind farms will be completed by 2020. Four of the projects are north of Trondheimsfjorden and two are south of the fjord. The six wind farms are Roan, Storheia, Kvenndalsfjellet, Harbaksfjellet, Geitfjellet and Hitra 2.
