Hasselström has been acting EVP for Energy since 22 January 2018.
“This is an absolutely key role in terms of reaching our ambitious goals in the renewable energy segment. We have therefore carried out a very thorough recruitment process in which we have looked at several Norwegian and international candidates. Jörgen was impressive throughout the process and the final decision was relatively straightforward”, says Multiconsult’s CEO Christian Nørgaard Madsen.
An important strategic focus
Renewable energy is an important part of Multiconsult’s long-term strategy, while international growth is a key priority in the Group’s strategy towards 2020. It will be vital to have right organisational structure if we want to succeed in these areas. That’s why we made some changes to our organisational structure on 1 March 2018 in order to give us sufficient international capacity and flexibility. In conjunction with that, Hasselström was appointed acting EVP for Energy and head of Multiconsult’s Energy segment. Since then, he has played an absolutely key role in putting together a dynamic and efficient organisation, both in Norway and internationally.
“Jörgen has done a great job as the acting EVP for Energy. I am now looking forward to continuing my successful cooperation with Jörgen as we realise our strategic ambitions”, says Madsen.
Motivated by positive changes
“I am pleased and honoured to have been entrusted with responsibility for continuing to lead Multiconsult’s Energy business. Having had the chance to get to know the business and work with so many highly qualified and focused colleagues during the first half of 2018, it was easy to accept when offered the chance to continue as EVP for Energy”, says Jörgen Hasselström.
“Both domestically and internationally our energy systems are undergoing an exciting development process in which Multiconsult is playing a big part. The Energy segment’s projects make a big difference, whether they are electrification projects that reduce poverty and inequality in developing countries, or renewable energy projects back in Norway that cut fossil fuel emissions. And the fact that Multiconsult’s activities lead to positive changes really motivates me”, says Multiconsult’s new EVP.
About Hasselström
Jörgen Hasselström joined Multiconsult in 2017. He has extensive and wide-ranging experience from the energy sector, having previously worked at ABB, Fortum and Sweco Sverige. Hasselström is a Swedish citizen, and he has a PhD in Physics from Uppsala University. While at Sweco, he managed the largest power transmission consulting business in the Nordic region, including significant international activities.
