Large increase in Norwegian photovoltaic capacity in 2019

The Norwegian photovoltaic capacity grew by 100 percent in 2019, according to new market statistics for solar power in Norway, compiled by Multiconsult for The Norwegian Solar Energy Cluster.

During 2019, more than 51 MW of photovoltaic power was installed in Norway, while 23.5 MW was installed in 2018. Overall, about 120 MW of photovoltaic power was installed in Norway at the end of 2019.

About 60 per cent of the photovoltaic capacity was installed on commercial and industrial buildings, and 35 per cent was installed on private households. Overall, the photovoltaic capacity in Norway has increased eightfold since the end of 2015.
